There are a few things that have brought me to “I’m-so-happy-I-could-cry” tears. Among them include backpacking in the Sierras, my own wedding day, and this superbloom of lupines I found by total accident while looking for a location for maternity photos with Melynne and Jase.
I mean wow. This place looks like it came straight out of a fairytale.
The stars aligned so perfectly for Melynne and Jase’s maternity session. I grew up going to the same church in Granite Bay, CA as Melynne and I was lucky enough to photograph their engagements and wedding day, so when Melynne reached out to ask if I was in town for a maternity session, I was beyond excited.
The week before their session, I went on the hunt for wildflowers, but I didn’t have much luck. I found a tiny patch of lupines that I decided would be “good enough”. As the week went on, I just had this feeling that we could find a better spot. The day before their session I went driving and found a literal SUPERBLOOM of lupines! I had never seen anything like it before in my life! It seriously looked like another planet, so I texted Melynne and we decided to take pictures there.
Melynne and Jase are just two of the most wonderful people you’ll ever meet in your life. Melynne is beyond sweet and Jase is so positive. The two of them were in such good spirits for the whole session and even had amazing attitudes when it got a little buggy around sunset.
I am so excited for Melynne and Jase! Just around 13 more weeks until they get to welcome their little bundle of joy to the world! I know they will make absolutely fantastic parents and I can’t wait to see them start this new adventure.
